Amalfi Coast Sailing Overview

One Week.
Blue Water. Three Worlds.

Sea, boat, terra. The current overview for Sailing ⛵ adventure 2026, with Amalfi as the only destination on the table and Uwe as skipper.

🌊 The Sea: open, clear, moving The Boat: our floating home 🍋 The Terra: cliffs, stone, lemon light

One week sailing in the magic of the Amalfi coast.

A one-week proposal: what the week could look like, how the route feels, which boats are actually currently available, and what's still open on cost and timing.

The Sea

Sailing and exploring the waters in and around the Amalfi area. Swimming in open water. Anchoring when and where we feel like. Learn the ropes, relax and kick back, enjoy the magic of sailing, read a book, or just hang out and enjoy the fabulous surrounding. The water brings peace and relaxation, it allows us to drop our shoulders take a good deep breath and we sway with the waves directly into dream land.

The Boat

Minimum 45 feet for comfort and space - some offer 5+1 cabins, lots of space for us all. The flybridge is a raised open deck above the saloon, with its own helm and lounging space where we can all hang out whether at sea or on anchor. Open to the sky, coffee in the cockpit, someone reading up front, someone cooking below. Spacious in a way that surprises you, and fast becomes home. Our safe haven at sea and on anchor.

The Terra

The Amalfi Coast is renowned for its breathtaking scenery, featuring dramatic cliffs, charming pastel villages, and sparkling turquoise waters, making it a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visitors can enjoy stunning coastal drives, delicious local cuisine, and vibrant lemon groves, all contributing to its enchanting atmosphere.

Why A Flybridge Matters — For The Comfort You May Wish To Have

Social space for everyone

Helmsman, crew and guests all sit up top together — the perk people mention most.

Best views on the boat

360° sightlines over the bow and the whole coastline — prime spot for sundowners.

Guests out of the crew's way

Lounging up top stays clear of cockpit and galley activity below.

Breezier, full sail view

Cooler open-air helming, with the whole rig visible for easy trimming.

Look out for the ✦ Flybridge tag on the boats below — that's what it means.

🇮🇹

The Amalfi Coast & Gulf of Naples

Where old stone drops into deep water, the mornings smell of salt and citrus, and every anchorage feels slightly charged.

The Place Itself

Under sail, the week opens beyond the Amalfi Coast into the wider gulf: Procida, Ischia, Capri, Naples, the volcanic backdrop, and the stretch of water where myth still seems close at hand. No road, no schedule, just wind, water, and wherever the day wants to go.

The beauty is obvious, but it is also in the sheer concentration of things. Cliffs cut with old terraces, harbours tucked into rock, lemon groves hanging above the sea, churches and houses stacked where they've no right to fit. Seen from the water, the whole coast feels less like scenery and more like something alive.

The beauty from a distance, like a long distant memory of our land-life, similar to a long-distance relationship, where we know the beauty lies and the comfort, here on the water, on our vessel we know that, but we enjoy the distance on the water for a week. The Amalfi coast and its breathtaking things are left to discover to either before or after the sailing. We may have a chance to go ashore here and there, but the boatlife is to precious to explore the coast for long.

How It Sails In Late July

This is a good sea for a group that wants a proper sailing week without turning the whole thing into a hard-edged performance exercise. Morning water is often calmer. Breeze builds later. Evenings tend to soften again. It is enough movement to feel like a voyage and enough ease to still have a long lunch, a swim, or a lazy afternoons on anchor.

A note on timing: Late July and early August are genuinely busy. Amalfi in peak season rewards good timing, an early move when it's needed, and a bit of flexibility. The upside is that a catamaran still gives us the one thing the coast can't offer on land: space. Even when the shore is packed, the boat lets the day open back up again.

Indicative Pricing: just over €10k to just over €12k for the shortlist below, before packs, fees, mooring, fuel, provisioning, crew support, and everything else that turns a charter into a full trip.

Three Ways The Week Could Flow

A full working reference is charted separately — real anchorage names, protection notes, wind timing, and the rules that actually bite. Three shapes for the week, below.

What We Know, and what needs thought

The boat is the biggest single line item. Keep in mind insurances, provisioning, security deposit, marina, diesel, equipment fees, and etc. are not factored in yet.

Charter Structure

Format Bareboat charter
Skipper Uwe
Hostess or Chef To be determined.
Reality check Boat layouts, base choice, and week still shape the whole feeling of the trip

Travel & Base Notes

Airport Naples International (NAP)
Salerno boats Usually the cleaner transfer logic from Naples, but still busy in peak season
Procida boat Adds an island-base feel from the start, but also a little more transfer complexity
Timing Late July and early August reward early moves and good coordination

Not Included In Boat Price

Always separate Charter packs, cleaning, linen, towels, fuel, mooring, provisioning
Usually separate Insurance handling, damage waiver choices, and other admin fees
Crew support Hostess or chef if we bring one
Meaning These prices are a rough outline for the costliest part only: the boat itself

The Boat Is One Part. The Human Fit Matters Just As Much.

If this week is going to feel right, the right support on board matters more than just checking a service box.

👩‍🍳

Hostess Or Chef: Not Booked Yet

There's no need to force this decision early, though it shouldn't sit vague forever either. If we bring a hostess or chef, they need to be the right fit for this group and the tone of the week, not just whoever happens to be free. That support sits outside the charter price and will need its own research once the boat and week are settled. Zane, who joined us on the previous magic sailing retreat, may be worth reaching out to again if that still feels right.

A Few Things to Close the Gap

Planning stage for our Sailing ⛵ adventure in 2026. We have not yet booked or made any reservation yet - all prices are current from 7.July 2026.

01

Which week?
Jul 25 to Aug 1, or Aug 1 to Aug 8. That alone already narrows the field a lot.

02

Which boat?
Prive versus cabins versus flybridge... Consider the layout of each boat, follow links and ask questions. We need to make a final decision and book the boat.

03

How many in the group?
That shapes cabin logic, who shares, and whether 11 berths is enough or 12 starts to matter.

04

Hostess or chef?
Do we want to actively look now, and if yes, what kind of presence actually fits this group?

05

Budget reality?
The boat number is only the headline. Packs, fuel, mooring, provisioning, and support still need their own layer.
